December 31, 2006 our
newest member, Maestro Kirk Muspratt was heralded as Chicago Tribune's
Chicagoan of the Year 2006 by music critic John von Rhein. Kirk
is one of only two musicians ever to be titled "Chicagoan
of the Year." Thank you Maestro to your dedication to music
and music education!

Also, don't forget!Before the October meeting,
we will have Karen Perez of Karen's
Glass Designs presenting her line of glassware. Her designs
make perfect gifts that can either be purchased there or even
custom designed. All glassware is dishwasher safe and microwave
safe.
Members of SAI Lake County Alumnae Chapter,
On Saturday, September 16th at 1PM we will start our new calendar
year with the Annual Fall Round Up Picnic. This will be a potluck
so don't forget to bring a dish! Also, the first Business meeting
will be held at 7 PM on September 25th at the Trinity Memorial
Lutheran Church in Merrillville. See you soon!
We are proud to announce, May 22, Maestro Kirk Muspratt accepted
initiation as Distinguished Member into Lake County Alumnae Chapter.
Many of you will probably recognize Maestro Muspratt as the highly
acclaimed Music Director of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra
and has concluded his sixth season. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate
of Temple University in Pennsylvania and while tenured in Utah,
Mr. Muspratt received the first Utah Up N' Comers Award ever given
to a classical musician. His greatest iniative is to give every
child the opportunity to appreciate great music. To learn more
